Terms of Sale

By placing an order with The Midnight Chapter, you agree to these terms.

1. Who we are. The Midnight Chapter is an independent small business based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Contact: hello@themidnightchapter.ca.
2. Products. We sell 3 oz soy wax candles in tins. Colours, wax surface and scent strength can vary slightly from candle to candle because each one is hand-poured. Photos are for illustration.
3. Prices. All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD). Each candle is $15 CAD. We may change prices at any time, but the price you pay is the one shown when you place your order.
4. Shipping. We ship within Canada only. See our Shipping Policy for costs and timing.
5. Payment. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Your order is confirmed once payment is approved.
6. Order acceptance. We may cancel an order and refund it in full if, for example, a candle becomes unavailable or there's an obvious pricing error. We'll email you if this happens.
7. Discount codes. Codes are subject to the terms stated when they're issued, can't be exchanged for cash, and can't be applied after an order is placed.
8. Returns. See our Returns Policy.
9. Candle safety. Candles are an open flame. Please follow the care instructions in our FAQ. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep it away from children, pets, drafts and anything flammable. We aren't responsible for damage caused by misuse.
10. Fan-inspired products. Our candles are inspired by our love of reading and fantasy. The Midnight Chapter is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any author or publisher, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
11. Limitation of liability. To the extent allowed by law, our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Ontario consumer protection law.
12. Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
13. Changes. We may update these terms from time to time. The version on the site when you order is the one that applies.
